| Bamboo, reed, or aur is a perennial evergreen flowering plant from the Bambusoideae subfamily which belongs to the Poaceae family. Bamboo is also known as preng or pring in Javanese, awi or tamiang or haur or torch in Sundanese, tabatiko in Ternate, and ute in Ambonese. In this world, bamboo is one of the fastest growing plants. Because it has a unique rhizoma-dependent system, in a day bamboo can grow 60 cm (24 inches) long or more, depending on the soil conditions and climatology where it is planted. |
