| Red ear mushroom & x28;Auricularia auricula-judae, synonyms Auricularia auricula, Hirneola auricula-judae& x29; is one of the species from the class Heterobasidiomycetes & x28;jelly fungus& x29; with a reddish-dark brown fruit body and shaped very similar to the human earlobe.
The fruiting body has a chewy texture and in nature grows on dead tree trunks that are wet and damp.
Red ear mushrooms in dry form are commonly used in various Asian dishes. |
