| Ashford Castle was built in the 12 century by the anglo normans, in the village of Cong, county Mayo, Ireland. It was also owned by the Guinness family for a number of years, and is now a 5 star hotel. The 1952 movie, The Quiet Man was shot in and around the village of Cong, and the cast who included John Wayne and Maureen O Hara stayed in the castle. The world number 1 golfer, Rory Mcllroy held his wedding there in 2017. |
