Aristolochia ringens Vahl are plants of the Aristolochiaceae family and Aristolochiaceae genus. Perennial vine plant. The side profile of the sparrow flower resembles a sparrow, a peacock, and a red bellied pheasant. The stem is over 2 meters long, and the leaves are paper oval, kidney shaped, or circular, with supporting leaves. The base is heart-shaped, with a dark green color on the top and a pink green color on the bottom. The flowers are solitary in the leaf axils, drooping, with the lower part swollen and the upper part contracted. The eaves are labial, the upper lip is spoon shaped, the lower lip is lanceolate, and the lower lip is about twice as long as the upper lip. The outer part is light brown with dark brown stripes. The capsule is elliptical cylindrical in shape, black when ripe, and has 6 lobes.
