| Alesund is a sea port and is noted for its concentration of Art Nouveau architecture. A fire happened on 23 January 1904 in the city of Ã
 lesund. It destroyed almost the whole city centre, built mostly of wood like the majority of Norwegian towns at the time.The town was rebuilt having an unusually consistent architecture, most of the buildings having been built between 1904 and 1907. |
