Riding on the Alaska Rail Road, particularly the leg between Seward and Anchorage, is considered one of the best experiences in Alaska for both residents and visitors alike. Thousands of cruise ship passengers choose to ride the Alaksa Rail Road rather than taking a bus or renting a car each summer. Seward is a common summer cruise ship port of call, located on the Kenai Peninsula at the end of Resurrection Bay. Seward, named after former United States Secretary of State William H.
