| ÃÅachtice Castle was built in the first half of the 13th century. It was one of the first castles to secure the western border of Hungary especially in the 13th century when it was administered by the castle royal castellan. In 1273 he was attacked and severely damaged by the Czech king PÃ
â¢emysl Otakar II. Among the first lords of the castle were Peter and Pongrác from the Hunt-Poznanov family for a time it also belonged to MatúÃ
¡ ÃÅák TrenÃÂianský. In 1392 it became the property of Stibor of Stiborice who owned 20 castles in PovaÃ
¾ie. In 1467 they were imprisoned in the castle of the Hussite commander Ján Ã
 vehla. |
