Fleet Week is an annual celebration of the United Stated Coast Guard, Marine Corps and Navy, all going back to the countries colonial period. Although the Marine Corps and Navy both go back to 1775 with the Coast Guard only going back to 1790, it is because both the Marine Corps and Navy were disbanded after the Revolutionary War, but later reestablished, is why the Coast Guard is considered the oldest continuously operating of Americas military branches. However, many are again looking at the 1775 start dates for both the Marine Corps and Navy, making this their 250th anniversary. Fleet Week is an annual all out celebration for these branches of our military, now with the added Air Show flying over the San Francisco Bay. Since United is a major sponsor of the event, and a big fan favorite, the United Airlines 777 makes a second flight, this time over the Bay itself. . This is a regular commercial United Airlines 777 plane, although the pilots are highly trained test pilots, usually former military or NASA test pilots, with no passengers on board at the time. As most enjoyed from the Twin Peaks North or Eureka Peak 11 October 2025.
