The Chevrolet Corvette is such a true, iconic American sports car that even a total fixer-upper is deemed desirable by the true enthusiast, as this 1960 one attests to. As American veterans returned home from Europe after WW2, many started to bring home European sports cars with them. With this in mind, General Motor designer Harley Earl was able to convince them that they needed to build a sport car, too. In 1953, the first Corvette finally rolled off production. From the 2019, 22nd Annual Carpinteria, California Rods and Roses show.
