On the northern side of the city of Yegoryevsk, near the wooden church in the name of the Great Martyr Nikita, located at the city cemetery, in 1880 the construction of a stone church in honor of the Holy Trinity began. The construction of the temple was carried out at the expense of the Yegoryevsk mayor, merchant of the first guild Nikifor Mikhailovich Bardygin. The architect of the temple, and then all monastic buildings, was Ivan Timofeevich Baryutin. The construction of the church with two side chapels continued for three years, and in 1883 the temple appeared in all its beauty. I.F. Tokmakov noted in his historical essay about Yegoryevsk: `In the Ryazan diocese to which Yegoryevsk then belonged we did not have to see such a brilliant splendor of the temple.
